The Barghest is a quite ominous playbook for John Harper's already fairly disconcerting Blades In The Dark, created during the Unusual Suspects playbook jam. It is as compatible with other playbooks and crewtypes as you would expect a mythological, dangerous dog to be.

I ran this playbook in a recent session and had an absolute blast with it. My friend running the session leaned into it, as did the other players, and it was much easier than anyone thought to play a character like this with limited communication abilities. 10/10, would run again.
out of all the unusual suspects jam playbooks i've gone through, this is by far the one that's made me scream in excitement the most! beyond the sheer awe at playing a Mad Dog, i find it super creative in its use of items and special abilities. Love it! and can't wait to either play it or beg a player to do so 🐶
